Bill,
the current gtk opengl addons for window is buggy, and only offscreen
rendering is supported. I cannot reproduce the error your mentioned run
under a VM.
Try add a line such as
a1__=: a
just above the line of error, and see if any item of a1__ is greater than
255 when suspended. Or compare the value of a1__ if run from jconsole.
