Hi Steven, Take a look at JDB (http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/JDB). All columns in the DB are managed as mapped files. We've created db's with over 100 columns and had no problems.

So, then I got to wondering what the overhead for having a mappped file open was... and if there is a limit to how many you should have in a single J Session (2, .., 5, .., 20, ..., ?). thanks, -Steven ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
