AFAIK this doesn't work because it's not a boxed name, e.g.:

    4!:0 <'*:'
_2

also doesn't give you a clear answer.

Give it a name then it's indeed not a verb:

N=.('';,.a),.b;a +/ b

    4!:0 <'N'
0
