Hi

First of all, j602 had no such problem. J7's jgtk has some problem under
CJK environments(even though I tested it with Korean windows, I am quite
sure it generalizes to CJK environments) concerning fonts.

With j602, I can choose any fonts, even ones without Korean fonts. For
example, "Courier New" does not include Korean fonts but I can choose that
font and the system will use (instead) default Korean font when it has to
display Korean character. Of course latin alphabet is displayed using my
explicitly chosen font.

With jgtk, it doesn't seem to follow that behavior (using default font when
the chosen font can't display the character) and it displays boxes.

My current temporary solution is using my own built font. I combined DejaVu
Sans Mono(my favorite fixed-width font for coding in Latin alphabet) along
with fixed width Korean font to create a new font file, with FontCreator.

It definitely is a annoyance to many CJK users, I guess.

Any suggestions?
