Interesting. I stumbled over this line:

Then I read the post you are pointing at and it is because your text is about APL not that APL is a part of the solution. Reading on it looks like JOD is an important part of this work and you seem to have got interest from others to use JOD and thus J. I have to admit that I know next to nothing about JOD. Interestingly enough then in my language when we say J it is pronounced Joð which is close to Jod but more like Joth.
