J is available at the App Store for installation on your iPad and iPhone. Go to App Store on your device, search for Jsoftware, and do the FREE install.
In 1 day, without even being announced, there are already 25 installs around the world. World domination is only weeks away. *** The beta version provided JAL support as well as iTunes file sharing. These features were rejected by the App Store and had to be removed before J was accepted. Apps like J are only allowed copy/paste for 'data transfer'. It seems downloading URLs and iTunes file sharing are for media content and the J use was broader than that. Initially I was upset by this, but think the resulting situation will be fine. iTunes file sharing required a direct cable connection and was more trouble than it was worth. JAL was very nice, but it was for Jsoftware addons, and didn't provide a general bi-directional transfer solution. The copy/paste transfer methods will be presented and discussed in the beta forum. When it has settled down, it will be reflected in updates to the standard library and in a wiki page J for iOS. In simplest terms, copy/paste sharing between any 2 J systems, is done with email messages or a service such as provided by www.gethopper.com. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
