Comments #1 and #3 specify the preferred implementation for me:
citesummary should have a box that allows one to enter a search that
restricts the papers that are citing the current set. Next to this box
should be two buttons:
"Remove PDG (which is equivalent to putting "not t RPP" in the box)"
and last year's cites (which is equivalent to putting "and year -1" in the
box)
Those two should probably be spelled out as examples, similar to example
searches on front page)
(note I'm not sure either of those searches work, but their intent is I
think, clear, please modify as needed)
