This is fixed. It is available on github as branch
269-453-direct_through_parend_parser. I will put it on AFS as soon as I
have a reliable-enough internet connection to do so.
Note that some elegance is perhaps missing from the solution - if no hits
turn up in the search by parts, then the whole chunk is sent to
search_pattern so that boolean suggestions, etc., come up as expected. In
a second iteration, it would likely be possible to take care of these
suggestion boxes in a more sensible way.
