 I sent a note to DEV while thinking about this problem.  I paste it below:


 1) How hard to add the ability to track citations to papers based on
 different 773 fields.  I.e. we need an alternate "journal form" made from
 773w,773c and also probably 773a  This wouldn't supersede 773p,v,c but
 should exist alongside it.   i initially thought I could configure this in
 the citation.cfg file, but discovered that it isn't so simple, we seem to
 assume that there is only one publication note and style here.

 (PS this is trying to handle the number of docs cited in SPIRES as
 Conf.Proc.,CNNNNN,PPP which did not get moved to INSPIRES as journal
 fields in 773...)

 2) can someone verify for me that records with two journal publication
 notes are cited correctly even if cited by the second of the
 pubnotes....I've checked and it appears to work, but the d_records_s
 dictionary has only one entry per recid which would indicate that multiple
 773s are not supported.
