As we have recently integrated OCR tools into the upcoming conversion-tools
(in the form of OCROpus), to support OCR in fulltext searching, why not to
support speech-recognition?

At CERN we have at least 1268 multimedia object that would profit from this.

There are some OpenSource project for batch speech recognition (e.g. see:
<http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/html/cmusphinx.php>)

This would open the possibility to automatically extract text/keywords from
multimedia documents containing audio tracks.

(It still needs to be verified which kind of accuracy is reachable with such
tools so that it's feasible to use it together with Invenio indexing
algorithms)

Voice recognition of video lectures is part of the SMAC family of projects
(CERN-EIF collaboration), so we may possibly be getting nice voice text files
directly from SMAC.
