Hi Tibor,
The dependency is now recommended rather than mandatory. I added some
unit tests which fail when dateutil is not installed, but which pass when
it's present, but for the case where the user is using the correct syntax
(iso-formatted dates), things should 'just work'.
I pushed it back out to the same branch.
