Hi all, we need to do something about the number of emails sent out by Invenio. Here is the email I read this morning.
Benoit. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Wendy Date: Sun, Sep 5, 2010 at 1:39 AM Subject: Bouncing ADS email To: bthiell@cfa Hi Benoit, I just discovered a huge - almost 350MB - mail spool file belonging to you that contained 23252 email messages that appear to be duplicates of an email sent via the ADS service (via machine adsate.cfa.harvard.edu) from bthiell@cfa to bthiell@cfa. I have not been able to figure out what is causing the duplications, but they were happening at the rate of about 500 per hour! [...] It looks like the mail should have been from you to the ads service, but somehow got your address for both to and from. The mail starts like this: > Date: Fri, 3 Sep 2010 02:57:30 -0400 > From: bthiell@cfa > To: bthiell@cfa > Subject: Exception (bibdocfile.py:3393:download_external_url) at > http://adsate.cfa.harvard.edu > User-Agent: CDS Invenio 0.99.90.20100823 at http://adsate.cfa.harvard.edu > > Hello: > > "ERROR: it's impossible to correctly extract words from > http://adsabs.harvard.ed > u/cgi-bin/nph-data_query?bibcode=1971BAAS....3Q.484S&link_type=ARTICLE" [...] wendy -- Benoit Thiell Software developer The SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System http://adswww.harvard.edu/
