When certain operations on many records with the Multi-Record Editor are
performed, the engine sends desired changes in MARCXML format to BibUpload
for uploading. Currently, the file for bibupload is produced in full (all
MARC tags) and is submitted in the REPLACE mode. This may generate lock
troubles with other record editing applications.
Ideally, only fields that are modified should be submitted to bibupload,
under a CORRECT or APPEND bibupload mode, depending on the actions performed.
