The current WebComment module deletes the comment row from the database when
deleting a comment. It would be better to mark the comment as deleted, and
hide it in the web interface (or display a note explaining that the comment
has been deleted, because not compatible with the terms of use of the
service).
The advantage of this solution:
+ possibility to keep track of users who abuse of the commenting features,
and possibly set alerts on them.
+ keep track of an entire discussion. The deleted comment might be necessary
to understand the further posted reactions (even if not visible).
+ looks less like censorship
+ give a better image of the system to users: they are not surprised by
disappearance of comments ("Is it a bug? Is Invenio going to lose my
comments? What happened?"). It strengthens the idea that Invenio is a safe
wrt their data.
