(Is needed for a iPhone Page for new Books of the Library.)
The RSS Feed for book should contain a richer full view. it would be nice if
the content of the feed can contain the following information:
- Author(s)
- Year
- ISBN Number
maybe also:
- Publisher
- Place of publishing
- Other additional informations like pages ...
Because RSS-Libraries like SimplePie (http://simplepie.org/) allows the
extraction of structured data it would be also nice if this informations can
get structured.
An example for a good RSS Feed:
http://academic.demo.kohalibrary.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?q=wiki&format=rss2
Maybe also Dublin Core can used to add structure for the Authors and the
Year.
This information will help a lot to create something new like this iPhone
Page on basis of the RSS feed. Also it would allow to get more informations
from other sites (e.g. Covers, Reviews) when I have the identifier for the
book.

i don't see any author at:
http://cdsdev.cern.ch/rss?cc=Books%20%26%20Proceedings
Maybe the format can be changed to ATOM that addition information would be
possible. In any case i see no reason why information like year, publisher
and ISBN can be put in the content field of the feed. If there is no
structure possible than written with a colon.

The RSS output already contains authors information.
Year and ISBN cannot be expressed in the RSS format according to the specs
(the RSS feed given as example does not validate).
It would be awkward to have structured information in the description tag, as
it would not be understood by most RSS readers.
So the best would be to use a different output format than the public RSS.
Some JSON output would be more adequate (for eg. on the DEV server:
http://cdsdev.cern.ch/search?cc=Books&of=JSON ).
It would also possible to have an additionnal RSS-like output format that
would extend the RSS one with the suggested features.
