If a cataloguer wants to delete certain field instances in a batch mode, the
current way of doing things is to download a set of records, edit unwanted
field away, and upload the resulting file in the REPLACE mode back. This is
not ideal.

A DELETE mode for bibupload should be created, that would behave a bit like
the CORRECT/APPEND modes. That is, the cataloguer would put only the
unwanted field instances into her input file, would call bibupload --delete,
and the bibupload would go through the records mentioned in the input file
trying to locate unwanted field instances and delete them if found.

This would also help in deleting fields from within WebSubmit.
