As we have spoken in real life when you were here the last time, I
have looked at the problem and can confirm that it is indeed due to
the fact that for a particular file type (extension) such as PDF only
the first hit is being indexed.  The others are discarded as potential
`doubles'.  This behaviour had fit the usage scenario here at CERN at the
time but
it is clearly not suitable for EDUCA and the general use.

I have opened a TODO task to improve this behaviour.
