Yes, that might be a good addition.  Even though users like me are
browsing the web with NoScript extension blocking google-analytics.com
(among others) by default :)

Anyhow, CDS Invenio's WebStat module contains not only that small CLI
analyzer tool to analyze Apache log files, but also a feature-full
Pythonic stat gathering system that can be configured in order to
register any custom event on the running installation you might be
interested at (e.g. to track additions to baskets) and then to provide
admins with a graphical stats via web.  (See the '/stats' URL with a
recent Invenio CVS version.)  We plan to improve this module quite a lot
during the summer to provide some useful stats out-of-the-box.  CC-ing
Ruben (a new summer student in our team) who has just resumed WebStat
development.
