I have tested this branch, read it, checked kwalitee, and rebased it on
top of the inspire-ops repository. This new version of the branch is on
my github and afs repositories in the branch:

I put this patch on DEV and it is ready for people to try out and comment
on it. This should fix issues with, e.g.:

find author j.ellis
find author j ellis
find author j . ellis
}}}
... all being different.
Please test and comment. If it looks good I'll get it merged into
inspire-ops in the next day or two so it can make the next PROD deploy.
