One important point is probably that Invenio is extremely unhappy if
your ldap auth rewrites the alias for "admin" (ie. if admin
authenticates via ldap himself). Without the name "admin" you get a
bunch of funny errors you never would have thought of to come from this
missing user. Fiddled that out with Tibor already, and I think there was
a patch pending to resort to uid 1 instead of the string "admin".
Beyond that I just had to understand what the code in ldap-auth actually
does and how this maps to our setup. Your site was very helpful for me
as it took a look from a different angle, so some things in the EPFL
stuff became clear.
