refextract cleaning function is doing more, so one would have to be
careful about dotless i and stuff.
This ticket was mostly about ligatures only. WRT general re-factoring of
this functionality and WRT sharing of textification rules across modules,
it would be very good thing to do indeed. Alessio actually started doing
that...
