Hi, the described problem, that scsi disks are not detected in vmware with .24etchandahalf, is not a really a problem in the kernel but in older version of vmware. The problem is, that there are only fixed versions of vmware workstation and player, but not for vmware server. It manifests itself with 2.6.21 to 2.6.24 at least, dunno about .25.
