Thanks for the speedy reply!
Here are the next steps - handle any of the pieces you want to and
feel free to lob any/all of them back at me.
1) Send the patch to debian-release, asking for permission to upload
to stable (good to put "[stable]" in the subject)
2) Assuming approval, prepare a package with an etchnhalf version
(I'd recommend 28-1+etchnhalf.1 or similar - having 'etchnhalf'
in the version is a requirement) and a target distribution of
'stable'. And obviously this should be built in a clean etch
environment.
3) Test (if you want me to do this, i'd appreciate any suggested test
cases you have)
4) Upload :)
