There is an increasing interest in supplying an interface for catalogers
(and users) to extract plots from a given record and then attach them.
For example; The user can enter 'arXiv:1010.9999', press "Extract plots",
and it would then look up the record and harvest the tarball from source.
When the plot-extracting is finished it can show the results to the user
for review. Finally, the user can hit "OK/Upload" and the plots are
uploaded through a BibUpload call.
The source could in this case also be extended beyond a normal OAI call to
also support uploading of user-supplied tarballs/archives containing the
files for extraction.
Such an interface could live under /record/plotextract perhaps, like other
edit/merge/etc options.
