Hi all,

I'm puzzled with the following Invenio 1.1 behaviour, that I have in my
test installation but also in CERN production site. When I search for
«Last name, First name» (with comma), search is ok. Searching «First
name Last name» is fine also. But «Last name First Name» (without
comma) gives zero results. For example:

 http://cds.cern.ch/search?p=simko%2C+tibor&f=author (10 records)
 http://cds.cern.ch/search?p=tibor+simko&f=author (10 records)
 http://cds.cern.ch/search?p=simko+tibor&f=author (no match, no
 suggestion)

And, curiously,

 http://cds.cern.ch/search?p=tibor%2C+simko&f=author (direct order but
with comma: no results, but automatically suggests removing the comma,
 11 records)

We think that this behaviour is, at least, questionable. Certainly many
people search in direct order, and following the catalog hyperlinks the
comma is automatically added, but searching in reverse order (like most
librarians do, and they are heavy users of the system) probably
shouldn't give zero results just because he comma is not there. Or at
least, it shoud automatically suggest similar searches.

In my 0.99 production sites adding or removing commas or reversing the
order of the elements don't change the results.

Is this a intended behaviour? What is the reasoning behind it?

Thanks,

Ferran
