Dear Tibor,

Thank you for your reply. I am thinking on giving v3 a try and see how it goes. The way I see it, we have a 3+ months timeline on our end.

Best regards,

Evelthon

It depends on the features you are looking for and on the expected
production timeline.

Invenio 1.2 is our recommended stable release series, running the legacy
code base that is used by many digital library installations in the
world. If you are looking at having an out-of-the-box system with
components such as the MARC21 authority control or an OAI-PMH automated
harvester, then this would be the version to look at.

Invenio 3.0 is our latest development preview release series, running on
Zenodo, HepData, and a few other pilot services. It is still in the
pre-production stage, with many components having an "alpha" status with
possible API changes to come before Invenio 3.0 final is released. Many
Invenio legacy features, such as the above mentioned MARC21 authority
control or an automated OAI-PMH harvester, aren't fully ported yet.
However, if you are looking at having a solid modern technology code
base covering all the basic functionalities, upon which you'd like to
build your own Pythonic digital library solution, and if you are not in
a production hurry, then this would be the version to look at.
