This position requires Portal experience. IBM Portal is strongly preferred. 10+ years overall IT experience required. Candidate will be responsible for overall application systems design, balancing optimization of application access with resource use factors. Knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing J2EE/Portal application systems and developing requirements and design specifications for new and existing applications. Focuses primarily on documenting requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. Serves as architecture manager and leader in the integration of solutions, construction of applications, development of new business opportunities, and building of relationships with clients. Must be well versed in various architectural patterns. *Portal Specialization * * 3 years experience with enterprise Websphere Portal Deep architectural understanding of the Websphere platform and the Websphere Portal tool. Experience with Websphere Portal Factory, portlet to portlet communication, and Websphere portal integration and presentation services Experience with the entire lifecycle of Websphere Portal adoption including the development process, configuration, and production roll out. * Other Responsibilities Ability to work with business leaders and analysts to understand functional and non-functional requirements while crafting a technical solution leveraging company and industry best practices and standards Experience in authoring technical architecture documentation utilizing the 4+1 Views, design patterns, data models, and conceptual models of the proposed solution Serve as the lead architect at the architectural review board seeking approval for proposed technical solution Collaborate with the development teams to refine and confirm the usefulness of the architecture during construction Improve understanding of the technology landscape and trends Drive the architectural roadmap to leverage upcoming tools, standards, and technologies Develop proof-of-concepts and perform research associated with new technologies and frameworks Experience as an enterprise architect in a large multi-line of business organization is strongly preferred. IBM Portal experience preferred. Content Management 3 years experience with enterprise content and document management solutions (FileNet, Documentum, Open Text, Stellent, Vignette, or Interwoven) Knowledge of structure markup languages and trends in structured markup Experience with workflow and business process technologies including: Savvion, Pegasystem, Lombardi, Fuego, and industry standards: BPEL and BPMN Experience with the entire lifecycle of enterprise content management systems adoption including the development process, configuration, and production roll out. Deep architectural understanding of the Websphere platform and the Websphere Portal tool. Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience in systems development in a variety of computing architectures and environments Thorough understanding of software development life cycles, development and technology tools, testing methodologies, and requirements gathering Must have strong technical expertise in the J2EE environment, UNIX, Linux, Windows, MQ Series, UML, Tiered architecture, Relational Databases, Web development, and object-oriented methodologies Good communication skills, written and verbal Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and communicate requirements to other companies Proven leadership and relationship management skills B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required Requires 10 years of experience in IT with a minimum of five years in application systems design -- THANKS/REGARDS ANDY.
