Senior Annuity Business Analyst

The Business Analyst (BA) must possess an understanding and knowledge of
Insurance industry products, sales concepts and business development
process. Strong candidate should have  had working experience with
Annuities systems. The BA is the conduit between the customer and the
software implementation teams. The ideal candidate has worked on several
projects from the software development life cycle, starting with
requirements gathering, through the successful implementation of said
projects.





Primary Responsibilities:
·Owns the requirements management process. This includes but is not limited
to the following:
o    Solicit client requirements using walk-throughs, document analysis,
storyboards, use case scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow
analysis
o    Analyze and interpret business and user requirements into functional
requirements and specifications that have an appropriate level of detail
suitable for use by the software implementation teams.
o    Write clear and concise requirements ensuring that requirement
statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, feasible,
unambiguous, and verifiable.
o    Manage changes to final requirements through change control process
and write specifications for bug and enhancement Change Management Requests
(CMR) requests.
·Support user acceptance testing and defect management
·Support project manager in troubleshooting of problems and issues; make
recommendations and provide alternative solutions when it applies.
·Participate in the planning, development, coordination and presentation of
training to broaden and improve the knowledge of the staff when applicable.
·Determines operational objectives by studying business functions;
gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
·Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user
documentation; providing help desk support; training users.





Bachelor's degree
·Prior IT development experience is a big plus
·Ability to read Cobol, .net code is a big plus
·Data analysis and SQL skills are a big plus
·5+ years working in the insurance industry and Annuities spaces
specifically
·Must have strong knowledge of Annuity products and concepts.  Knowledge of
other insurance products, such as life insurance, is a plus.
·2+ years of gathering and writing business requirements.
· Industry related certifications and/or licenses desired.
·Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the demonstrative
ability to work with all levels within the organization
·Sound organizational skills to work in a fast-paced environment and manage
multiple priorities.  Project Management experience is a big plus.
·Strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills. Accuracy
and attention to details are required.
·Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Quality Center,
SharePoint is a  must
