Please find below requirement and forward resume to [email protected] *Position: *Senior Web Architect *Location: *Minneapolis MN *Duration: *6 months Contract to Hire (EAD GC, GC, US Citizen) *Rate:* Open – Depending on Experience *Overview:* The Web Engineering and Architecture teams, develop, and implement innovative consumer facing web products and the underlying technology platform aimed at reinvigorating and rejuvenating the customer experience. We are looking for a talented Senior Web Architect to lead the architecture, design and development of key e-commerce and cloud technology initiatives. There are multiple areas of specialization available such as Search, Distributed Services, Big Data platforms, Cloud Infrastructure, Ecommerce and others. In this role, you'll work on multiple projects comprised of small teams of skilled engineers. You will guide their architecture and get into hands-on coding and development when necessary. You will ensure the project's architecture corresponds to the client's .com Ecommerce platform being built within the CTO Organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovative architecture, scalability, high availability, software quality, DevOps, and developer productivity. We're looking for a hands-on architect, that is involved in the day-to-day activities including: stand-ups, iteration planning, coding, design reviews, technical discussions to determine technical direction when needed, as well as work with product and creative teams, product managers, other technical leaders, and stakeholders within the organization to clarify requirements, priorities, and deadlines when necessary. *Ideal Candidates Should Have:* - A demonstrated background in application architecture and distributed systems - Creative and innovation-driven mindset with the ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability - Ability to work on multiple projects while ensuring each project complies with the vision of the overall Ecommerce architecture - Knowledge of modern web development technologies: Java, web services (REST), NoSQL databases, continuous integration, and automated testing - Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, OpenStack, Rackspace cloud, etc.) - Willingness to work flexibly including handling after-hours urgent work as well as normal working arrangements - Experience in Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and/or XP - Persuasive written and oral communication skills - Passion for building top-quality products & services - Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional projects *Basic Qualifications* - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience. - 10 or more years of professional web development experience, including demonstrated expertise in coding Java/Spring/Maven applications and services. - 4 or more years of Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development or Functional Testing - 4 or more years of application or distributed systems architecture for highly scalable systems. - 4 or more years of experience leading a project team, implementing Agile practices and/or mentoring other developers. - 2 or more years' experience with languages that compile and run on the JVM such as Groovy, Closure or Scala. - Thorough knowledge of documenting architectures for use by development teams and other architects - Knowledge of architectural governance concepts *Preferred Qualifications* - A propensity to automate repetitive tasks. - Experience using version control systems such as SVN or Git. - Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira or ClearQuest. - Proficiency with UNIX/Linux command line. - Experience using Wikis as a knowledge system for application development - Experience with caching tiers such as Memcached, ehcache, etc. - Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3 and new Javascript frameworks such as backbone.js and dust.js.
