Job Title: Junior SQL Developer Location: Minneapolis, MN Duration: 6+ Months Contract (on-going contract, never ending!) Max Rate: $30/hr Local to MN - Highly Preferred. They will be interactive with customers directly! Details and Job Description from IQN: General Summary: Resource will be supporting Business Intelligence. General support like, SQL querying databases, creating reports, Business object report creation and depending on experience Business Objects Universe creation, data mining, learning new databases, TeraData querying, depending on experience, running recurring reports, etc.. Data Investigation and reporting – Extracts data from operational systems and reporting databases using a variety of reporting tools, including TeraData SQL Assistant, SQL Developer, and Business Objects. Ability to understand and identify relationships within the data and between databases, understands requirements of the customer, and the location of required data. Validates accuracy of the results and able to provide meaningful insights. Work Management – Manages multiple tasks, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities. Communicates status clearly and timely to management and other team members. Provides accurate time reporting and reasonable estimates for work efforts. Documents: methods, business requirements, SQL coding, and reporting criteria to a level consistent with departmental standards. Customer Relationship – develops strong relationships with business unit personnel to understand the business challenges and forge a partnering relationship for problem solving. Intimately understands the business and/or information challenge within the business unit. Offers suggestions for improvement and/or further research into data findings or process issues. Clarifies and documents customer requirements, manages expectations, and enhances business systems credibility, transparency, and partnership with internal Client customers. Key Requirements: 3 Years of SQL 2 years BO 2 years Data Quality Top three attributes: Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and team to understand the challenges and the business and the needs of the various business areas. Service oriented – ability to listen to a customer’s needs and diagnose what they are really asking for. Excellent problem solving skills, excellent people skills. Strong team abilities – works well with all kinds of individuals. Doesn’t reinvent the wheel.
