Job Title: Sr Java Engineer Job Location : Eagan, MN Local only Position Type : 6 - 12 Months This development team provides key software solutions that are used across Client internal business units. The Sr Software Engineer will work within the Infrastructure Development team to assist with development of a customized internal/private cloud system based on Open Stack. Role and Responsibilities Collaborate with team members and architects to understand customer requirements and implement the solution Participate in efforts to integrate systems, including off-the-shelf product integration Develop quality software solutions Actively participate in software development projects using agile development practices Actively incorporate performance & scalability into solutions Understand design patterns and implement them in software Technologies Programming:Java 1.6+, SQL, OpenStack experience preferred Web front-end technologies: JavaScript, jQuery and plug-ins, JSON, CSS, AJAX, HTML Databases:SQL Server and/or Oracle Testing:JUnit, NUnit Frameworks:Spring MVC Server:Tomcat web server Development tools: Eclipse IDE, Source Control Data manipulation and management: JSON, XML, Excel, CSV Operating System: primarily UNIX/Linux Knowledge of HP service management tools is a plus (e.g. Service Manager, Asset Manager) Other Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent critical thinking and problem solving capability Take personal responsibility to impact results, deliver on commitments, and reduce costs Ability to work independently and in a team environment Proficient in object oriented programming Education and Previous Experience BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with 3+ years building web and server-side applications Practical project and personnel management skills with respect to small/medium scale software projects Qualification Rating Enterprise Databases Oracle SQL*Plus 0 (No Familiarity) of 5 (Expert) and 0+ Yrs.
