Job Description:
SCOPE OF SERVICES :
· The SUNY strategic plan and the Governor's Executive Order 88 (EO88)
each have set goals for system-wide energy savings over the next seven years.
SUNY's energy budget is $232.7 million, with the electricity portion alone
projecting to be $109.8 M for FY 13-14.
· The data analyst will assist the Director of the Office for Capital
Facilities with the collection, organization, monitoring, and reporting of
building, campus, and University energy data, helping to guide the campuses
with their assessments of energy use, implementation of energy-saving measures,
and tracking and reporting of results.
· The individual will work primarily out of SUNY administration
headquarters
in Albany. The initial term of employment will be for three months with the
possibility of an extension.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Coordinate and manage SUNY's energy data
a. University-wide
b. Campus-level
c. Building-level
2. Work with individual campuses to create standardized processes and
formats for energy data collection and reporting
3. Evaluate energy data to identify potential anomalies
4. Assist campuses with the management of their energy data
5. Provide the Director of the Office for Capital Facilities with data
for reports, presentations, etc.
6. Assist campuses with the implementation of EO88 guidelines,
particularly
around data requirements, including reporting, metering, etc.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor Degree, preferably in Statistics, Business, or Engineering.
· Experience working with complex data sets required.
· Experience working with multiple stakeholders required.
· MS Access Level 2 capabilities required, Level 3 preferred.
· Experience in energy management preferred.
· Experience working within a large institution preferred.
