Job Title:            Quality Analyst
Location:            Phoenix, AZ OR Rancho Cordova, CA
Duration:            3-6+ Months Contract
Max Rate:           $35/hr

Job Responsibilities:
The Software Quality Assurance Tester / Analyst is responsible for the
writing the test strategy, reviewing requirements as testable, and
developing test cases in support of the approved test strategy. This
position will contribute to project efforts for high-quality defect-free
deployment according to schedule.
The Software Quality Assurance Tester / Analyst will require 7+ years in
software quality analysis and testing in multiple environments including
all aspects of software testing (planning, development, execution,
monitoring, control).

Duties and Responsibilities
Writes the test strategy for the projects assigned with input from Business
Owners, Application Owners, and Subject Matter Experts
Works with Business Owners/Application Owners, and Subject Matter Experts
to define test success criteria
Analyze requirements for completeness, correctness and clarity to drive the
testing effort and confirm them as testable
Works with the Business Owners, Application Owners, and Subject Matter
Experts to analyze and develop the proper test coverage
Develops test cases to verify requirements according to standards/best
practices with alignment to test plan/strategy. Ensures adherence to
functional and quality requirements
Provide quality metrics for test case build, execution, and defect
management activities
Evaluation/selection of appropriate tests, testing methods, etc.,
leveraging technical expertise to make independent decisions
Interprets environment considerations related to test environment
Creates test scenarios/detailed test cases clearly articulate test
objectives, steps and expected results. Ensure all application
functionality, interfaces with up-stream/down-stream systems, and error
handling processes perform as expected
Participates in setting up and maintaining appropriate test environments
Identifies and creates the necessary test data for each test case
Works with Project Manager to estimate test case build and execution effort
Leads and conducts test case review / walkthrough meetings
Debugs the execution of test scripts against the targets of test
Excellent attention to detail and the understanding of how to find flaws in
complex software.
Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken
Must be a self-starter

BACHELORS DEGREE is Required

Job Knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong Experience in software testing in multiple environments including
test planning, test cases development, test execution, and quality
assessment
Responsibilities require analysis of variety of complex options, and
ability to make independent decisions on unique or varied matters
Extensive experience developing test cases and test scenarios from use
cases and/or requirements specifications
Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills; strong attention to detail
Experience with various software testing strategies and approaches (e.g.,
parallel testing, regression testing)
Strong experience with System-System Integration Level Testing
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Good understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance concepts
Knowledge of test metrics and how they are used for decision support
Knowledge of common programming concepts, practices and structures
Understands data structures, data models and technical design documents in
order to be able to identify test scenarios.
Strong GUI/API testing ability and validation skills
Strong MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint) skills
Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks and work assignments;
complete multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and quality; adjust to
changes in priorities and situations; meet deadlines
Ability to be thorough and precise when accomplishing a task; double-check
accuracy to consistently provide high-quality work with minimal errors;
compare work to what is expected to find and correct inconsistencies;
remain aware and take care of details for all aspects of the job involved,
even those easy to overlook
