Job Title:            Senior SQL Server BI Architect
Location:            Denver, CO
Duration:            6+ Months Contract

*Write-Up Criteria:*
·         7-10+ years experience in SQL server, Microsoft BI stack
·         7-10+ Informatica experience
·         Ability to identify, document, redesign, and replace SSIS with
Informatica.

Note from Hiring Manager:
We let go a consultant who had been around for about a decade who had built
out SQL Svr DBs to house data from multiple ERPs or ODSs(Cobol, MySQL,
Oracle EBS).  He supported the SSRS and SSAS deliverables as well as the
DB, SSIS and server admin activities, so a pretty senior expert in the
Microsoft BI space in an ERP environment.  We need someone to come in and
dig into this environment as we have no documentation, identify
opportunities for improvement (including redesign not just process) ,
implement them, develop documentation to make knowledge transfer possible,
replace SSIS with Informatica.  In a nutshell, to stabilize and standardize
the environment as much as possible to accommodate a new ERP implementation
in 2015 and our eventual need to transfer this entire environment to Oracle
in the months/years to come.

Job Description:
Ideal candidate is a senior expert in the Microsoft BI environment and
identify opportunities for improvement (including redesign not just
process) , implement them, develop documentation to make knowledge transfer
possible, and replace SSIS with Informatica.  They need to stabilize and
standardize the environment as much as possible to accommodate a new ERP
implementation in the upcoming year and the eventual need to transfer this
entire environment to Oracle in the months/years to come.

Skills
Well versed in Model driven data and BI architecture design (Canonical
model, SOA, and Domain models)
Expert in visualizing requirements to efficiently communicate and validate
critical requirements utilizing various diagrammatic tools (UML Use Cases,
Visio, Enterprise Architect, Erwin, and ER Studio)
Preparing detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional
design documents for all stakeholders, Developers, and QA teams.
Expert in Conceptual/Logical database design through E-R Modeling (Erwin
and ER studio)
Expert in Physical database design/Object Relational modeling and
normalization through 3NF.
Experience as Data Warehouse architect and dimensional Modeling – STAR and
Snowflake by analyzing and discovering key business domains and processes.
Expert ETL architect to integrate and transform data from/to various types
of vendor’s databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Excel, and Access as well
as SAN storage devices) using Informatica, SSIS
Experience in Business Intelligence/ Analytics both from all sources
(transactional databases (OLTP), OLAP, Data warehouse, and business
semantic layers utilize SSAS, SSRS,
Expert in T-SQL /PL SQL programming (stored procedures and functions)
Expert in financial industry preparing, analyzing, and reconciling
financial reports.
