Job Title: Java Developer with Grails or Groovy Location: Saint Louis, MO Duration: 20+ Months Contract Max Rate: $42/hr Primary Responsibilities Create efficient, imaginative and sophisticated solutions for software feature requests across the whole application. Develop high-quality code following established Agile and XP development processes. Evaluate workflow diagrams and initial mock-ups; make technology recommendations that support optimal construction, maintenance and performance. Assess the technical feasibility of proposed functional designs. Identify and deliver improvements to existing solutions. Estimate the time needed to complete development phase of projects. Keep abreast of the latest developments in web development technologies. Mentor junior staff members. Required Skills A college degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of web development experience in a software development environment Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal) Be reliable, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned work Detail-oriented and able to work independently and with a team Well versed in agile & XP methodology practices including Test Driven Development Web and User Interface experience Knowledge of contemporary web application techniques Familiarity with JavaScript, preferably using the Dojo toolkit Experience with Grails/Groovy (ICD-t is considering a move to Grails/Groovy) Experience with MVC design pattern using the STRUTS web framework Spring MVC (ICD-t is considering a move to Spring) Java expert Expert in Object Oriented Design (OOD) Mastery of data modeling using hibernate ORM Mastery of applying software patterns where appropriate Knowledge of Java concurrency Experienced in application profiling and sampling techniques to identify performance concerns and memory leaks Experienced in executing and analyzing performance testing via JMeter WebLogic or WebSphere experience Working knowledge of version control systems (SVN or Git is preferred) Experience working with Eclipse IDE Can work in a structured development environment with build and configuration management tools (Maven2 & ant) Knowledge of Web services including WSDL, XSL, XML, XPath, SOAP Experience with JMS providers Proficient in SQL Thank you for your time and look forward to work with you. ______________________________________ Thanks, David Johnson - Sr IT Recruiter MANIFEST Technology Email: [email protected] This email message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information.
