Job Title: Sr. Java Developer Location: New Orleans, LA Duration: 6-12 Months Contract – Must be EAD, GC or US Citizen Interview will consist of a 1 hour technical phone screen Front End: HTML and CSS and must have Spring MVC Middle layer: Spring or JBoss Backend: Database: Oracle backend with PL/SQL Agile methodology Must have Test Driven Development experience TDD Would like to also see Continuous integration experience Should have 5-10 years of technical experience. Must have mentoring experience. Banking or Financial applications is a plus but not a requirement Essential Responsibilities Participate in the analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of information technology solutions for business processes. Develop and debug complex code, conduct code reviews, and mentor other developers on coding in alignment with industry best practices Collaborates with US, near-shore, and off-shore based team members to deliver software solutions. Define detailed functional and technical specifications required to satisfy business requirements. Maintain team’s alignment with software development best practices and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded Provide functional and technical documentation Additional duties as assigned by management Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or related field (or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years equivalent working experience) 4+ years of software development experience using J2EE or Spring 1+ years of Struts web development 1+ years of Data Access development using Hibernate 3+years Oracle PLSQL experience (SQL statements, stored procedures, functions, and triggers) 3+years in application design and implementation Eligibility Qualifications: Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check. Must be willing to work out of an office in New Orleans, LA Desired Characteristics Financial services software development experience Worked in an Agile software development environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with J2EE/Spring Web Development Experience with Java technologies such as Struts and Hibernate Experience with automated test tools (JUnit, JBehave) a plus Experience in developing Web Services (Axis2, Rampart) Experience implementing a Continuous Integration environment such as Jenkins. Experience with Tomcat or similar web application container configuration settings. Experience with JavaScript, CSS & HTML (HTML5 plus) Experience with JavaScript frameworks (JQuery, Angular, etc.) a plus Experience with XML.
