Location:            Lake Success, NY

Position Summary
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for provisioning, maintaining
and upgrading business critical systems for both production and
nonproduction environments. The primary focus will be managing the
development, customization and integration of the application development
infrastructure, the production infrastructure and third party
application(s) in support of the RTS OLRS products and other applications
as required. This position will require continuous interaction with the
software development, operations management, third party vendors, various
state agencies and end users.

Primary Duties
Manage all aspects of the UNIX/Linux Server infrastructure including
installation, configuration, capacity planning, patching, virtualization
and incident resolution.
Monitor and tune UNIX/Linux Server configurations to maintain optimal
performance and resource consumption.
Configure, Customize and Administer the integration of UNIX/Linux systems
with Active Directory
Configure, Customize and Administer J2EE web application servers
Configure, Customize and Administer middle tier technologies including
Websphere MQ, SNA emulation and UNI
Configure, Customize and Administer the application share storage
technologies
Assist in all aspects of database and Windows administration including
installation, configuration, and capacity planning, patching and incident
resolution.
Develop scripts and programs in support of all aspects of application and
systems management using various programming and scripting languages.
Review, evaluate and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
Provide on-call support to resolve and/or escalate production incidents or
issues after normal working hours.
Provide afterhours release and change control support based on the most
current change control schedules
Produce update and/or endorse UNIX/Linux Server standards, guidelines and
procedures
Review, evaluate and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies

Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree Computer Science or an Associates Degree with 3-5 years of
relevant experience in Infrastructure Engineering.
Experience in all aspects of managing enterprise Unix/Linux system design,
implementation and management
Experience with managing network services such as DHCP and DNS
Experience in configuring and administering web application server
technologies, such as Apache and Jboss
Experience in configuring and administering middle tier technologies such,
as Websphere MQ, SNA emulation and UNI
Working knowledge of supporting technologies such as, enterprise
virtualization and SAN Storage frameworks, such as VMware Vsphere and EMC
storage systems
Working knowledge of the Windows Server operating system
Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages, such as BASH, KSH,
Vbscript, C, Perl, PHP, Python,  WSH, SQL, HTML, XML, Java, Visual Basic
and   PowerShell
Working knowledge of all phases of Unix/Linux systems management including
performance, data integrity, security, and capacity planning
Knowledge of supporting technologies such as, enterprise virtualization and
web application frameworks
Ability to manage and adjust to multiple and changing priorities.
