The application developer will complete development activities to support and maintain multi-tier web applications in a Microsoft environment for a dynamic and growing Hedge Fund firm. Development requests for the application will be focused on the maintenance of the current reporting solution, interface architecture, and code changes to the .NET framework web applications. The application is the primary front and middle office application fulfilling portfolio management, analytics, investment and operational due diligence functions. Experience with financials or banking a definite plus. The Developer is responsible to design and develop assigned technical components: i.e. screens, reports, etc. The Developer will work with the Team lead and senior developers to create necessary views and other changes to the application under development. The Developer will plan, code and execute unit tests as prescribed in the developer guidelines and comply with project standards including coding and design guidelines, quality standards, architecture approaches and guidelines, code and design review recommendations. The Developer should understand testing, participate in the broader levels of test planning and on an as needed basis in testing and support activities. The Developer must also provide an assessment of the scope, impact and estimated effort as requested for any new enhancement or defect found within an application. The Developer is expected to produce high-quality work products and assist in the development of documentation. The ideal candidate will also possess the following traits: - Self starter motivated to provide a solution to a business need. - Some experience in problem decomposition. - Experience identifying gaps in technical requirements. - Able to question requirements on the basis of gaps. Minimum 2 years of experience developing multi-tier web applications in a Microsoft environment .NET and C#. Experience with ASP.NET MVC Minimum 2 years of relational database development including table design, creating and optimizing complex queries, views and stored procedures. Microsoft SQL Server experience strongly preferred Some experience with automated unit testing using NUnit, JUnit, VSTest or similar testing frameworks. Experience working in a TDD environment Some experience with publish / subscription models, enterprise services bus or other similar SOA type framework and architectures, is a plus Experience working in a Continuous Integration (CI) environment including creating Powershell build script is a plus Experience with a reporting tool, SQL Server Reporting Services or Crystal Reports, is preferred BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field Certification in Microsoft Technologies a plus Experience in financial services and/or investment management a plus Requirement: Note: Need 8 Plus Years and rate is $57/hr on C2C Senior Java with POINT-OF-SALE (POS) (In-Person required) Oralando ,FL 1-2 years REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide technical expertise for critical point-of-sale (POS) applications. - Participate in the development of functional requirements and design specifications. - Help refine conceptual systems design requirements and produce a detailed technical design. Prepare and deliver supporting technical documentation. - Provide programming and technical expertise to implement business solutions according to the technical design. - Ensure that all code / technical configurations and other work products are thoroughly unit-tested prior to delivery. - Participate in system / integration testing as appropriate. Perform code reviews and other QA steps as requested. - Ensure accurate project status is always known and communicated. - Effectively communicate with team members and management throughout the project lifecycle. - Ensure issues are analyzed, discussed and resolved in a timely manner. - Assist customers in the preparation of user documentation and training materials. - Assist project team with determining the appropriate tools, technologies, and platforms for new implementations.
