Ability to design and develop large distributed systems being mindful of latency, cross data center replication, monitoring, messaging throughput, distributed database internals 2. Hands on development ability in an agile environment 3. Experience with Hadoop stack 4. Experience with traditional data warehousing applications and the underlying design principles 5. Experience with complex data modeling and advanced query tuning 6. Experience working in a high performing team with not so well defined hierarchy 7. Focus and ability to get the task done under seemingly insurmountable odds *Responsibilities:* • Design, architect and build data platform solutions using Big Data Technologies • Understand the design principles and implementation and planning rigor needed to scope and then execute on large and complex project of re-engineering traditional warehouses into the Hadoop stack. • On time delivery of complex applications • Quick and thorough in learning new technologies and execution. • Lead by example coaching and mentoring those of your peers and mentoring less experienced team members. Operate as part of the extended management team. *Nice to have:* Understanding of the traditional reporting software. *Qualifications:* • Coding architect, being able to lead and run conference calls, document and execute an architecture vision, ability to get on command prompt and troubleshoot / install. • 10+ years of professional experience with an established track record as an architect. • Deep knowledge of component systems architecture including but not limited to distributed systems architecture and multiple programming languages supporting such architecture. • Knowledge of various Big Data components, vendors and technologies including Hadoop, Greenplum, Tableau, Gemfire, low latency solutions (networking / disk / etc).
