*Role: Visual Basic 6.0/visual basic developer* *Location: McLean, VA* *Duration of contract: 12 months * *Interview: Phone/ Skype* *Job Roles and Responsibilities:* Duties: • Application development, prototyping and modeling related to Web applications as well as Data movement applications using standard design. • Prepare Design document, development, troubleshooting. • Prepare and execute Unit test scripts. • Follow Change management process for deployment. • Analyze all business processes and ensure compliance to all controlled processes. • Analyze and rewrite SQL queries as needed. • Support System Integration testing and User Acceptance testing and troubleshoot issues with a quick turnaround time. • Preparation of Implementation and back out plan. • Updating Operation hand books. • Creating tickets in ServiceNow / change management tools. Candidate must have: • Expertise level proficiency with Visual Basic 6.0. • Experience programming Sybase – Stored procedures, cursors, triggers, user-defined functions, joins & views • Must excel in a team-based setting, demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to work efficiently, yet produce solid technical solutions • Ability to work independently or take direction when necessary; work in high pressure dynamic environments • Work in a highly collaborative environment with activities ranging from planning through deployment • 10 years of programming experience with Visual Basic (6 Years) • Good Experience in Visual Basic and debugging skills • Good experience in developing application using RDO & ADO objects and methods • Experience in N tier architecture (server and client components) • Strong understanding of algorithms, development experience with Sybase • Good understanding of the query / execution plan of the Sybase database • Experience working with a version control system (Clearcase / GIT ) • Previous experience and full understanding of full life cycle development • Good in both generic back-end and Client development • Aware of difference between various Sybase versions and behavior of the drivers • Add advantage to have experience in .NET technologies (ASP.NET.
