"Job Overview: Partner with business owners to understand new business opportunities and define the business and functional requirements. Deliver high quality business and functional requirements to the development teams for the purpose of completing the design, coding, testing, and implementation phases of the project life cycle. Provide leadership and quality assurance for the business analyst team. Provide subject matter expertise to take on more complex projects individually or through coordination skills with other analysts. Major Accountabilities: •Coordinate and participate in review; revisions; changes; enhancements; testing; documentation; and member notification of product enhancements and/or business opportunities. •Provide advanced business knowledge and technical support for business requirements development. •Work closely with analysts, developers and requesters identifying data and functional requirements in the design of new/enhanced systems. •Ensure development objectives are accomplished; user testing is performed; and member notification is prepared in a timely fashion. •Consult with Business Owners on projects. •Develop and participate in the review of business and functional requirements and determine primary functions that the project is to provide. •Ensure timely and accurate communication with project staff throughout the life cycle of the project. •Ensure knowledge transfer of vendor technology to MasterCard staff. •Document and coordinate changes and enhancements of products and services. Prepare and/or present documentation of business/technical presentations. •Provide technical support for the member(s) to ensure adherence to requirements. •Evaluate business requests to determine feasibility; work with Software Engineers to define alternatives and recommend optimal solutions. •Prepare overall project plan; incorporating costs and tasks from the various components; ensuring a successful and timely project implementation while ensuring methodology compliance; documenting problem areas and coordinating resolutions; reporting to management as necessary and investigating/researching MasterCard or industry business/technical process. Education: •Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required. •Advanced degree preferred. Knowledge / Experience: •Prior Business Analyst and Project Management experience required. •Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. •Must have knowledge MasterCard systems applications. •Applies advanced knowledge and extended expertise of principles, theories and concepts, plus advanced knowledge of business or function, usually acquired through five to eight years of experience. Identifies key barriers to a projects success and actively manages all mitigation activities. Major Accountabilities: •Provide leadership and oversight on various projects of a complex nature. Responsible for planning, developing, and executing schedules to ensure timely completion of project deadlines and milestones. •Ensure methodology compliance and manage resolutions, reporting to management when necessary. •Ensure timely and accurate communication with project staff throughout the life cycle of the project. Monitor and manage the project budget. Must be familiar with the system’s scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the teams. Identify and monitor project risks. •Regularly communicates to senior management regarding the status of specific project deliverables. •Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business. •Effectively lead the project team to align with the business objectives, project schedule, and project budget. •Effectively deal with difficult situations. Help develop solutions to complex problems. Mentor more junior Project Managers. Education: •Bachelor’s degree or equivlent combination of training and experience. •PMP certification preferred Knowledge / Experience: •Advanced knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the areas of strategy, planning and project management required processes and techniques. •5 to 8 years of experience with structured methodology and project planning tools. •Knowledge of MasterCard and the payments industry preferred. Skills/ Abilities: •Listening, oral, written and presentation skills and effective interpersonal skills. •Organizational and planning and multi-tasking skills.. •Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills required with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships. •Demonstrate ethics and values to generate high team trust.
