The local backup strives to keep an up-to-date mirror of Gna!, while the remote one is expected to keep the longest possible backlog in case of late security breach and forensic analysis needs. Today the remote backup is hosted on a shared machine generously lent by Mekensleep. Gna! uses >100GB, which is more than 80% of their ressources. I will work with Loïc to build a dedicated backup machine with some spare hardware bits and a handfull of modern, cheap and big IDE disks. This facility would be dedicated to FSF France backup needs in general.
