Use deleteBranch. e.g.
var prefs = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/preferences-service;1"].
getService(Components.interfaces.nsIPrefBranch);
prefs.deleteBranch("extensions.termblaster");
I think this clears the profile prefs.js of any entries for the given
branch.
