One of the perks of adblock!  Perhaps limit it to no more than 66,000 square
pixels of advertising total, in any shape or size so long as it's not more
than that.  That's enough for two standard *468 x 60* banners ((468 * 60) *
2 = 56,160), a Leaderboard (728 * 90 = 65 520) or even a small rectangle ad.

I'm happy to talk to the project owner about it, but I think we should
formulate an ad policy first so we know what is acceptable and what
isn't.  There is a board meeting coming up at the end of the month and
I'll add this topic to the agenda and then report back here with an
update.
