Commit notifications is on the roadmap and there is a bug open at https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=15670
Feel free to post any comments or suggestions to that bug. Personally, I think it makes more sense to have an RSS feed for a project's commits instead of a mailing list since lists are abused so much by spam.
