Hi Jack, The most common cause is that the simulation de-stabilized and the resulting chaotic dynamics will eventually lead to a "no available contact slots" error. Typically, this can be identified if you visualize the simulation, and the physics won't look right.
Usually reducing time step sizes will resolve the problem.
