Hi Luning, The problem is to generate randomly packed spheres in a double-periodic 3D box. We only need Project Chrono's DEM simulator to generate the sphere centers, so periodic boundary is only for pebbles.
>From sphere centers, we have our in-house code to generate the hex mesh for the void space between spheres. Then, we run large eddy simulations with our computational fluid dynamics code, NekRS. The final target is to study the boundary layer from the river bed to the medium.
