Delta Sungai Mekong yang merupakan lumbung beras untuk export Viet Nam amat luar biasa suburnya dimana mereka bisa panen 4 kali dalam setahun. Pabrik-pabrik garment sangat banyak bertebaran di HCMC maupun Ha Noi. Sampai-sampai Ciputra juga membangun hotel di Ha Noi.
Tadi di pasar banyak kelihatan seafood beku asal Viet Nam yang dikemas dalam kotak-kotak besar. Entah kemana barang-barang export dari Indonesia, apa sudah tidak bisa bersaing lagi karena kena banyak pungutan sepanjang jalan ? Tapi Indonesia masih beruntung karena harga bensin sangat murah, kurang dari setengan harga bensin Viet Nam. 1 liter bensin harganya sekitar 7500 Dong atau sekitar Rp. 5.000 per liter, padahal export minyak mereka meningkat.
