New Sudanese constitution inked
Sudan's president has signed a power-sharing deal with rebels in the
south of the country, putting an end to more than 20 years of civil
war.
Under the new constitution, Sudan's south is to be given some
autonomy and former rebels will take up seats in the country's
government.
Ex-rebel leader John Garang was sworn in as the country's vice-
president.
Some 1.5m people died in two decades of fighting between the mainly
Muslim north and the Christian south.
