Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Two blasts in Pakistan's tribal region killed at
least four people Saturday, officials said.
An explosion outside a tribal council meeting killed two people and injured 12
others, said Malik Rasool Khan, a senior government official and tribal elder.
The blast occurred near Khan's residence in the village of Khoga Khel in Khyber
Agency, where the meeting -- known as a jirga -- was taking place.
Elsewhere in the tribal region, a roadside blast killed two soldiers Saturday,
two intelligence officials said.
A convoy of security forces was patrolling the area of Boya in North Waziristan
when the explosion detonated, according to the officials, who asked not to be
named because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Khyber Agency and North Waziristan are two of the seven districts in Pakistan's
volatile tribal region, which borders Afghanistan.
